The Competitor Analysis page compares your brand with other brands in AI answers. It shows your share of voice, the visibility of each brand over time and the prompts where a competitor is ahead of you. To open the page, click Competitor Analysis in the Mapping group of the sidebar.

Filters

The page uses the filters at the top of the screen:
  • Date range: the period of the data. The share of voice uses the newest scan in this period.
  • Compare to: the period that the changes are calculated against.
The share of voice and the visibility trend cover every persona and every AI engine. When you select engines, the page shows a note that the selected engines do not narrow these figures.
If no scan has run yet, the page shows No measurements yet. The page fills after the first scan. See Scans and schedule.

Share of voice

Share of voice is the share of one brand in all the brand mentions of the AI answers. The Share of voice section has three cards:
  • Ours: the share of your brand, and the change against the comparison period.
  • Closest rival: the tracked competitor that is closest to you or ahead of you.
  • Gap: the difference in percentage points between your share and the share of the closest rival. A negative value means that the rival leads.
A chart below the cards shows the share of each brand. Brands that you do not track are grouped as Other. To see the brands that you do not track, click Show the … untracked brands. Each row shows the share of voice of the brand and the number of answers that name it. Click Track to add the brand as a competitor.

Visibility over time

The Visibility over time chart shows the visibility of each brand across the scans of the period. It shows the brands that you track and the brands that the last scan named most. A brand that you do not track has the label untracked. To select the brands on the chart, open the Brands menu and select or clear each brand. The history starts with the first scan after you add competitors. The chart needs two scans or more to show a trend.

Domain rating

The Domain rating card compares the backlink rating (0–100) of your domain with the domains of your competitors. A higher rating means that more trusted sources link to the domain. For more information, see Domain rating.
