An organization holds your sites, your plan and your team. Each person in it is a member. Each member has one or more roles, and the roles decide what the member can do.

Open the organization settings

In the user menu, click Account Settings. The Organization page opens. The page has two tabs:
  • Members: the people, their roles and the pending invitations.
  • Roles: the roles of the organization. See Roles and permissions.
You see only the tabs that your role allows. If your role allows neither tab, the menu item does not show.

Invite a teammate

Your role must allow you to create invitations.
1

Open the Members tab

On the Organization page, click Members.
2

Open the invitation form

Click Invite.
3

Enter the details

Enter the Email of the person. Select a Role.
4

Send

Click Send invitation.
The person gets an email with a link to join. The invitation is open for 7 days.
You can give only a role whose access you have yourself. If the role gives more access than you have, Perquery refuses the invitation.

Seats

Each active member and each open invitation uses one seat. The number of seats depends on your plan. See pricing. When no seat is free, Perquery refuses a new invitation. To free a seat, remove a member or revoke an open invitation. You can also move to a larger plan. See Billing and plans.

Revoke an invitation

Pending invitations on the Members tab shows the invitations that nobody accepted yet.
1

Find the invitation

In Pending invitations, find the email address.
2

Revoke

Click Revoke. Then click Confirm.

Accept an invitation

Open the link in the invitation email. The page shows the organization and the role of the invitation. In the labels below, the parts in square brackets show the organization name or your email address. The next step depends on your account:
  • You have no account. Enter your name and a password. Click Create account & join [organization name]. Use the invited email address.
  • You have an account but you are not signed in. Click Sign in with [your email address]. Then accept the invitation.
  • You are signed in with the invited address. Click Accept invitation & join [organization name].
  • You are signed in with a different account. Click Sign in with a different account. Sign in with the invited address.
An invitation works only for the email address that it was sent to. If the link expired, ask the person who invited you for a new invitation.

Find members

The Members tab lists each member with the Status, Roles and Joined date. You marks your own row.
  • To filter by status, click All, Active or Suspended.
  • To filter by role, select a role in Role.
  • To search, enter a name or an email address in Search people. Click Search.

Manage a member

Click Manage in the row of the member. A panel opens with these sections:
  • Roles: the roles of the member, with an expiry date and who gave each role.
  • Access: Effective access shows what the member can do now, and which role gives it.
  • Status: the actions to suspend, resume or remove the member.

Add a role

1

Choose the role

In Roles, select a role in Add a role.
2

Set an expiry (optional)

Enter a date in Expires on (optional). The member loses the role after this date.
3

Add

Click Add.
The owner role is never given with an expiry.

Remove a role

Click the remove button next to the role. A member keeps at least one role, so you cannot remove the last role.

Suspend or resume a member

When you suspend a member, these things occur:
  • Perquery signs the member out of the organization at once.
  • The API keys of the member stop working.
  • The member keeps all roles.
To suspend, click Suspend in Status and confirm. To give the access back, click Resume.

Remove a member

A removed member loses all roles. The person needs a new invitation to come back.
1

Open the member

Click Manage in the row of the member.
2

Remove

In Status, click Remove from organization. Confirm the action.

Rules that protect the organization

Perquery refuses a change in these cases:
  • The change leaves the organization without an active owner.
  • The change leaves nobody who can manage members.
  • You try to suspend or remove yourself.
