# Schema Generator

> Generate JSON-LD structured data for the pages that you select, from the content of each page.

The **Schema Generator** proposes JSON-LD structured data for your pages. It selects the schema type from what each page is. It fills the values from the content of the page. Perquery does not invent a price, a rating or an address.

## Before you start

Run a crawl from [Content Analysis](https://docs.perquery.ai/en/analyze/content-analysis.md). The tool lists only crawled pages.

## Generate schema

**1. Open the tool**

In the sidebar, under **Growth**, click **Schema Generator**.

**2. Select the pages**

Under **Choose pages**, select the check box of each page. Use **Search pages…** to find a page by path or title.

**3. Select schema types**

Optional: under **Schema types**, select the types to use. If you select no type, Perquery selects the type that fits each page.

**4. Generate**

Click **Generate for selected pages**.

The run continues on the server. You can leave the page and open the result later from the **History** tab.

## Read the result

The top of the result shows how many pages received a proposal. It also lists the pages that already have all the schema they need, and the pages that received no proposal, with the reason.

Each page has one card:

* The page path and the schema types of the proposal.
* A message when the page does not have a schema type that it needs.
* **Values only you have**: fields for values that are not on the page. Type the value, and the code block updates.
* The code block with the JSON-LD.
* **This block needs attention**, when a check of the block fails.
* **Against what is live**: **Already on the page**, **Added by this proposal** and **Changed properties**. If Perquery cannot read the live page, the card says so.
* **Previous versions**: the earlier proposals for the page.

## Copy or download the code

* Click **Copy** to copy the code block. The copied code is a `<script type="application/ld+json">` element.
* Click **Download JSON** to save the JSON-LD as a `.json` file, without the `<script>` element.

The copied code and the downloaded file include the values that you typed in **Values only you have**.

## Put the code on your site

**1. Fill in the missing values**

Type each value in **Values only you have**.

**2. Copy the code**

Click **Copy**.

**3. Add the code to the page**

Paste the code in the `<head>` section of the page.

## History

Click the **History** tab to see the stored runs. The table shows **Date**, **Pages**, **Generated**, **Failed** and **Status**. Click a run to open its result.

## Plan usage

Each page that receives a proposal counts against your plan's allowance. When the allowance is used up, the tool shows **Your plan's page allowance for this month is used up.** See [pricing](https://perquery.ai/en/pricing).
