# Add a site

> Add a brand and its website to Perquery and complete the site setup.

A site is one brand and its website. Perquery measures each site separately. Each site has its own prompts, competitors, personas, AI engines and scan schedule.

The number of sites that you can add depends on your plan. For the plans, see [perquery.ai/en/pricing](https://perquery.ai/en/pricing).

## Before you start

* Your role must let you create sites. If it does not, Perquery shows a message instead of the form. See [Roles and permissions](https://docs.perquery.ai/en/account/roles-and-permissions.md).
* Your plan must have room for one more site. The **Websites** page shows how many sites you use. When the plan is full, **Add website** is not available.

## Create the site

**1. Open the form**

Open the site switcher in the sidebar and click **Add website**. You can also open **Websites** and click **Add website**.

**2. Enter the brand**

On **Which brand are you adding?**, enter the **Brand name**.

**3. Enter the domain**

In **Website**, enter the domain without `https://`, for example `flowdesk.io`.

**4. Enter the category**

Optional: in **Category**, enter what the brand sells, for example `B2B SaaS, CRM`.

**5. Select the market**

Optional: select a country in **Target market (optional)**. Then select the **Language your buyers ask in**.

**6. Create the site**

Click **Create website**.

Perquery generates prompts, competitors and answers for the market that you select. If you select no market, Perquery uses English. The language follows the country until you select a different language.

After you create the site, Perquery starts to read your website. The suggestions in the next steps use this information.

> [!WARNING]
>
> You cannot change the domain after you create the site. To change it, contact support.

If Perquery shows an error, do one of these steps:

* **This account already tracks that domain.**: The organization already has a site for this domain. Open that site.
* **Enter a domain like flowdesk.io.**: Enter a domain name only, with no path.
* **Give the brand a name.**: Enter a **Brand name**.

## Complete the setup

The setup has five steps and a review. The bar at the top shows the step. Each step saves when you click **Continue**. Click **Back** to go to the previous step. Click **Skip** to go to the next step without a change.

**1. Competitors**

On **Who does this brand compete with?**, type a competitor domain and press Enter. To get candidates, click **Suggest for my brand**. Click **Add** on a candidate to add it, or **Not a competitor** to remove it. Click **Continue**.

**2. Prompts**

On **What queries should we track?**, type a prompt and press Enter. Click **Suggest for my brand** to get **AI-suggested prompts**. Click **Import** to add many prompts from a file or a list. Click **Continue**.

**3. AI engines**

On **Which AI engines matter for this brand?**, select one or more AI engines. ChatGPT and Gemini are selected at first. Click **Continue**.

**4. Personas**

On **Who asks about this brand?**, select the **Baseline**. Optional: add personas from **Suggested personas**, or enter a **Persona name** and a **Persona description** and click **Add**. Click **Continue**.

**5. Review**

On **Everything look right?**, read each row. Click **Edit** on a row to change it. Then click **Finish & open dashboard**.

The number of prompts and personas depends on your plan. The prompts and personas steps show how many you use.

### The baseline

Each site has one **Baseline**. Your plan does not count it. The charts open on it.

* **Raw query**: Perquery asks the AI engines with no persona.
* **Customize**: Perquery asks as the one persona that you describe.

> [!NOTE]
>
> The baseline is fixed after the first scan. This keeps its trend comparable.

### Engines that are not available yet

Some AI engines show **Coming soon**. You cannot select them yet. See [AI engines](https://docs.perquery.ai/en/ai-engines.md).

## After the setup

When you click **Finish & open dashboard**, these things occur:

1. Perquery records that the setup is complete.
2. Perquery selects the new site.
3. The first scan starts. It asks every prompt for each persona and AI engine.
4. Perquery opens the **Performance Overview** of the site.

> [!NOTE]
>
> Until you finish the setup, a prompt that you remove in the prompts step is deleted.

To change the site later, see [Site settings](https://docs.perquery.ai/en/sites/site-settings.md). For the scans, see [Scans and schedule](https://docs.perquery.ai/en/sites/scans-and-schedule.md).
