# Domain rating

> See the sources that AI engines cite next to your brand, their domain rating, and the sources that cite a competitor instead.

**Domain Rating** shows the web sources that AI engines cite when they answer your prompts. It shows how much authority each source carries, and which sources cite a competitor and not you.

Open it from the **Mapping** group in the menu: **Domain Rating**.

## Where the data comes from

When an AI engine searches the web to answer a prompt, it cites sources. Perquery stores these citations at each [scan](https://docs.perquery.ai/en/sites/scans-and-schedule.md). Then it groups them by domain.

> [!NOTE]
>
> Only AI engines that search the web produce citations. When no scan has citations yet, the page shows **Nothing measured yet.** and the AI engines that you track.

## Choose a scan

The page shows the latest scan. To see an earlier scan, select its date in the **Scan** list. Select **Latest scan** to go back. The list appears when the site has more than one scan.

## Domain rating panel

The **Domain rating** panel shows these items:

* **Domain rating (DR):** the backlink rating of your domain, from 0 to 100. The change from the previous scan is next to it.
* **Sources:** the number of domains cited in the scan.
* **Citations of you:** the number of citations in answers that named your brand.
* A chart of your domain rating over the last scans.
* **Top sources by rating:** the citing sources with the highest DR. Click **Show all** to see the full list.

## Citing sources

The **Citing sources** panel lists the domains that an AI engine cited in an answer that named your brand. Each row shows the number of citations and the DR of the domain. **DR —** means that the domain has no rating yet.

## They have, you don't

The **They have, you don't** panel lists the domains that an AI engine cited next to a competitor and never next to you. Each row names the competitors.

These domains are targets for outreach or content. Click **Opportunity** on a row to see the [growth opportunities](https://docs.perquery.ai/en/act/opportunities.md) for that domain.

## Links to a rival, not to you

The **Links to a rival, not to you** panel lists the sites that link to a competitor and not to your domain. Each row shows the competitors and the DR of the site.

This panel shows the backlinks of today. It does not change when you choose an earlier scan.

The panel can show one of these messages:

| Message | What to do |
| - | - |
| **Add a competitor to see the sites that link to it and not to you.** | Add a competitor. See [Competitors](https://docs.perquery.ai/en/monitor/competitors.md). |
| **Fetching the backlinks of your competitors. Refresh in a few minutes.** | Wait, then refresh the page. |
| A message that the backlink data is not available now. | Wait. Perquery tries again later. |
| **Your plan has no room for more backlink lookups.** | See [pricing](https://perquery.ai/en/pricing). |

> [!TIP]
>
> Each panel has an export menu. Use it to download the data as CSV or Excel.
